Only the tip of my key chipped off inside my deadbolt

The key for my DEADBOLT won't fit all the way in, therefore my key won't work. But I can still turn the lock and it works fine from the inside. By the way its not a double key lock. Any suggestions how to fix this problem? Im not sure if i should try spraying something inside the lock, or should i try shoving something inside the keyhole to get it unstuck? Please if anyone can help, its so frustrating to come home from work and your locked outta your house because your boyfriend keeps forgetting to leave it unlocked because it doesn't work from the outside, lol.

Take the deadbolt out, take it to a locksmith and have them clean out the cylinder. If it's a cheaper lock, you can buy the same thing at a hardware or home improvement store and it can be re-keyed to match your current keys. Cost will be about the same.
