Key turns about 1/4 clockwise or counter before deadbolt starts to retract

I just bought a new schlage deadbolt B60 series and was able to replace an old kwikset deadbolt. However, when I tried the key that the new deadbolt came with, the key turns about a quarter clockwise to unlock or counter to lock before the deadbolt starts to retract then I have to turn half turn to be able to pull my key out. Is there something I can do so that right when i turn the key, the deadbolt also retracts right away?

Thanks in advance!

No. Nature of the beast. As long as the bolt will lock then stay locked when you pull the key back out, and similarly, the bolt will unlock, and stay unlocked when you pull the key out, the lock is said to be "timed" correctly (installed correctly).

Most bored-in (tubular) deadbolts operate on the "lazy cam" principle you describe. Only a few brands (such as Medeco) employ a different principle of operation and do not have this "slack" in the key or thumbturn throw.
