Can't remove Titan deadbolt

I have a Kwikset Titan Deadbolt that I am trying to remove. First I removed the 2 philips screws and the thumbturn plate comes off. However, now there are 2 black slotted screws (hollow and threaded inside) that seem to need to be removed to be able to take the outside cylinder off. Any ideas how to remove these?

What did you do?

I'm having this exact problem now. What did you do to fix? I was expecting it to come apart, but those two hollow nutplate looking things or paint (although I've luv tapped it with a hammer). So what did you figure out? Thanks.

The black screws should have a slot in the rim sticking up above the threaded portion. You should be able to use an appropriate size flat screwdriver to remove them.
