I have a Andersen door. If you move the lever up, two bolts engage at the top and bottom. Moving the lever down disengages them. My lever is frozen in an up position and the levers will not disengage. It is the only practical way to let my dog out into the fence yard, so we have a real problem until we get it to let go.
I have tried heating it with a hair dryer, pushing the bolts out of the way with a screwdriver (they move a bit, then stop) and taking the levers off, but nothing helps. The lock works normally.
Any suggestions? There are no model numbers on it that I can see (of course I don't know what is written on the part I can't see.

I have an old 1960's man door with a dead bolt that I don't have a key for on my garage. I am sure people on here know what is the easiest way to deal with this. The hole in the door is much smaller and closer to the door edge than a normal lock that they make now. Opinions?
1. Pull the old lock off and get keyed?
2. Buy a specialty dead bolt online and replace it?
3. Redrill door (if even possible) to fit a new lock?
4. Light garage on fire and rebuild new?
