Kwikset Smartcode bolt gets stuck

Does anyone know how to fix this? The lock gets stick midway. I was thinking it was the heat because it's been 90-100 degrees here this week but it's cooler today and it's still stuck.

Open the door and try it. If it works freely, you have an alignment problem with the deadbolt binding as it passes into or out of the strike plate.

And if it does that with the door open, the latch may not be aligned properly with the retractor jaw in the lock body....remove the lock and latch, assemble in your hand and try it.

I took the whole thing apart....It still stuck while open. I actually took it to home depot today and they gave me a new one! Problem solved!

When choosing electronic locks for residential use, I'd stick with the offerings from Schlage....they're more expensive generally, but have a better reputation for reliability.
