What came first? Chicken or the egg?

Okay, I am going start the shingles today on my daughters playhouse. I have been looking and see differing opinions as to what goes first The Felt or the Drip edge. Can anyone give me a definite answer to this question?

Also, How much overhang off the eaves and side should I have with the shingles?

Drip Edge

The drip edge at the eave (the bottom or the first course) of the roof should go UNDER the felt so that any water would run off the felt , over the drip edge, and off the roof.
The drip edge at the rakes (the sides of the roof going bottom to top) needs to go OVER the felt so that wind-blown rain coming from the sides will go over the drip edge and then onto the felt. Any water would then run down off the roof at the eaves. You should overlap the drip edge about an inch or so starting from the bottom of the rake and working up the roof.
The shingles should overhang the eaves and rakes 1/4 to 1/2 inch.
Good luck.
