shingle question

the shingles that I am using have a strip of clear plastic protecting an adhesive strip near the very top. I always assumed that you peel the plastic off but a warning on the package says that you are not supposed to do that.

I'm confused.

Cool

Those strips are there to keep the shingles from sticking together prior to being installed.
Just leave them. No need to remove them at all.
The sun will melt them and the adhesive together on the shingles with normal heat on the roof.
Good luck!

Thumbs up Old Guy is right

Just to confirm.......
"Old Guy" is right.
The only purpose for the strip is to keep the shingles from sticking in the bundles. No need to remove them.

Well it is nice to know that I only wasted about 4 hours peeling them off before Oldguy set me straight. Thanks for the reassurance.
