Replace Roof Shingles
I am replacing shake shingles with dimensional shingles. Which is better to use roofing nails or wide staples?

Nails or Staples?......NAILS
Use Roofing Nails.........
Roofing manufacturers do not like staples.
They tend to "cut" through the shingle.
Nails tend to give the shingles better wind resistence.
No question..................use ROOFING NAILS.

I'm putting a roof on my rental. I am using a roofing nailler gun that I rented. It was $51.00 for a week plus nails, about $30.00. I have used the stapler in the past with no problem. My roofing MFR prefers nails, but staples can be used. Saves a lot of time and work.
