Question truss reinforce with roof replacement?

I need to replace my 25 year old wood shingle-on-slat roof with asphalt or comp. shingles on plywood. The truss is 24" o.c.2x6. Will I need to reinforce? And should I put plywood on top of the slats or replace slats with the plywood? What grade of plywood? Thanks...

If you have "truss" rafters they should not need to be re-inforced. Let the "slats" on and go over it with 7/16 OSB or 1/2 inch plywood. If you would take the "slats" off, you would need to use thicker sheathing (5/8 OSB or ply). Be sure to ventilate the new roof.
