new roof with leaking chimney

I have a fairly new roof and confirmed that the roof is not leaking. It's the chimney. How would I seal my chimney? The leaking is coming through the mortor of the chimeny? What product would best seal this mortor?

Chimney leak

If you have a new roof, perhaps they did not properly flash around the chimney? Did you have a leak problem before you got the new roof?

If you think your chimney is 'leaking,' I would recommend having the chimney inspected by a professional chimney specialist before proceeding. There are masonry sealants available. Without knowing the age and condition of the chimney, if it has a cap, and without knowledge of where you are having the moisture problem, it is difficult to provide advice.

call the roofer and tell him whats up. sometimes we will meet you half way. its somewhat of a task to "repoint" chimney flashing but if its a small tear in the lead there is a caulk called"geocell" get it in clear and seal up anything you see that might be a problem(just dont make a mess) the stuff sticks underwater when applying. if its a mess up there just get it done right because interior damage may cost much more to repair in the long run
