I am the person with the roofing problem. You really helped me to think about what I had not done right. In doing so, I just realized I forgot one thing when I told about my NEW roof. The house/roof that had no problems was 14 years old. After a new roof was put on, leakage began. Several leaks were fixed (where there were old skylights) and NO problems afterward. The skylight causing the REAL PROBLEM (according to the new project manager) is less than 2 years old. He says it is rusted, etc, etc. I wonder how ONE is rusted, etc, etc and other 2 on the left and right side of the leaking one are NOT. They are all 2 years old. The OLD roof & the 2 year old skylights did not leak. ONE SKYLIGHT is leaking NOW and ONLY after the new roof. Heck, thinking about this I probably should be angry. Hoping someone could help. I have Aluminum Siding on my house, including the detached garage. I installed a 6' french door in an 8' opening, so had to it shrink down the opening a bit. I also installed a 6' door where there was a window. So, I have some spots that need to be filled in and repaired, as well as installing the chanels or whatever around the doors. I don't want to do it myself, and have called around for estimates. Haven't heard back from anyone yet, but am wondering what kind of estimates I can expect? In order to make the repairs as good looking as possible, some sideing from the rear of the garage could be used to make the patches. Any response appreciated!
