help! water leaking behind gutters
I have a flat roof which I recently had replaced with what looks like long strips of shingle material. The roofer installed a new drip edge along the edge which hands down into the gutters.. The snow is melting on my roof and I have noticed that there are a few spots where there is water leaking down BEHIND the gutters and down the face of the brick.
I have no idea how it is possible for the water to get behind the gutters as they are directly below the roofline and the drip edge transitions the edge of the roof into the gutter...Any ideas on how I can track down the source of the leak and prevent it?? The strange thing is that the dripping occured in the exact same places with the old tar & gravel roof and I thought that when I replaced the roof, the dripping would disappear.
I have checked the inside of the gutters and there doesn't appear to be any holes/breaks..(they are metal).
Thanks!

Hi mgazer,
The "long strips of shingle material" is roll roofing, which is routinely used to cover flat roofs. You say the old roof was tar & gravel, was this removed prior to putting down the roll? Also were the gutters replaced when you had the roof redone?
I would have done both of these things had I been replacing the roof.

flat roof gutter leak
the roofer scraped of all of the tar and gravel and then applied the roll roofing on top of the sheathing...He did not recommend replacing the gutters so I didn't..they are the ones that were on prior to the new roof and I have no idea how old they are..
Given that this is the case, what do you suggest? I am calling the roofer tomorrow as I am supposed to get a 10-yr warranty but I am sure that he will need to wait until the spring when the snow melts to take a look at it.
Thanks,
MG

You're right about your roofer having to wait for the snow to melt off prior to checking out your roof again.
You say the gutters are leaking in the same spots as prior to replacing the roof. Are there seams in the gutter anywhere near where the drips are or possibly uphill from the drips? If so the problem could be the gutter and not the roof, Water is a weird animal, it can run down a horizonital surface several feet before gravity causes it to drip.
