Gambrel roof

I am looking for a place on the web where I can print plans for a gambrel roof. There are many different gambrel designs and shapes that I see on houses/gagages. I am particularly interested in the best way to have the upper section rafters join to the lower section, and whether or not there is any advantage having a center beam at the peak. I do not want to use premade trusses as I need all the open space, I and plan to build this roof over an existing peaked roof, then remove the existing roof from the inside. I have done this sucessfully once be fore with cathedral ceiling.

I am soory, but i have built gambrel roofs for over 30 years. I know of only one gambrel roof. There are different sizes, but only one design. Are you sure it is a gambrel roof ? I do have a drawing I could send you. E-mail me.
