Sheeting over shingles??

i have severely damaged shingles on my roof as well as a problem valley. Is it possible to sheet over the existing ahingles with 1/4 inch ply and then reshingle/ Or is it better to tear off and tstart over? Help Please!!

Tear the old shingles off. You won't be at all happy with the finished job if you try what you suggested with the 1/4" plywood.

low slope roof leaker blues

I have a roof that slopes 1ft in 12ft with hot tar on it now. What would be the best method to re-roof the house doing it myself. There is no valleys and only one layer of tar on it now.

OK, I'm certainly not a pro.... the little plastic doo-hickeys that sit on the ground under a downspout to guide the water away... which direction are they supposed to face - with the open end pointed AWAY from the downspout, or the open end butted up under the downspout so the water is trapped.
