Hi

i am wanting to paint a fairly steep roof and am wondering what is a good way to have a safety rope attached or any other safe methods to use.

Cool

I have a very steep A-frame roof that is 32' high at the peak. I use a 40' extension ladder, firmly secured at the bottom and laying flat on the roof, to work up and down on it. (You may need help moving it to keep from damaging the roof.)
I've never used a rope, but for added safety, you could secure it to something on the other side of the roof, bring it over the top and tie it around your waist. Good Luck!

The safest way would be to use roof jacks, the second would be a roof climbing harness.
This is not a rope but a real harness. They can be rented.
