Buckling drip edge
#1
My aluminum drip edge on a newly completed roof is buckling from expansion in hot weather. Obviously, slotted nail holes should have been punched to allow it to expand without buckling. Is there a specific tool used to do this quickly? Or is there another solution to this problem? TIA

Slotted nail holes in aluminum drip edge is uncommon. It may be that more nails are needed. Nail spacing of 8-12" should be adequate to prevent buckling due to expansion/contraction.
If this was a reroof situation and the existing metal was left in-place and reused, many times the metal edge gets a little "beat-up" and stretched during the tear-off and deck preparation process. Buckling is more common in these situations.
Not exactly sure about the tool you mention...but it would be some sort of metal punch. Call a local sheet metal contractor and ask.
