i'm getting ready to have new roof installed. i'm trying to stick to a lighter color, so it will cut down on the heat.
my choices are slate color, light grey, or light brown (kind of an earthy looking brown). does one color absorb heat more than the other color? any suggestions? (i almost want to avoid the grey as every house on the block has it!!)

Cool

I don't know if color matters, but the lighter the shade, the more heat reflective, as you know.
Your choice.
Good Luck!

I would recommend a blended color such as weathered wood.

You seem to have answered your own quesstion. You mention slate, light grey, and light brown in one sentence, and say you want to avoid grey in the next. That would seem to eliminate 2 of the 3 choices you offered!
