Unhappy Install Ridge Vent -Have 2 2x4s on Center!!!

Modular home. Roof has no ridge vent, want to add one. My roof center has *TWO* 2x6s that meet vertically together with the beams running along this set of parallel 2x6s.

How do you install a ridget vent in this situation ? do i need a wider ridge vent ? Does anyone have experience with this setup ?

Need your advice. Thank you.

Cosmetically i think a ridge vent is better looking than having one of those turbines on my roof

That's common construction of mod homes. There should be sheeting over them right? Plywood or osb, this is what you're wanting to cut thru. But your 2"x6" doubled should be about 3" total thickness, if the opening on the borrom ov your ridge vent is say 6", that's giving 1-1/2" opening on either side of the center beam, plenty of room.

Might want to take a look at this site.Installing a ridge vent tutorial Hope this helps. BTW I agree with you completely about the cosmetic value of the ridge vent, much better looking than a whirlybird or the square static vents.
