Rolled roofing temp repair

I am looking for a short term fix to repair a rolled roof garage that is leaking at one seam only. The edge's of the roll are peeling up at the seam which is causing a small leak during heavy rain. Is it possible to use a roof tar or other adhesive to repair this ? A new roof will be installed in a years time.

Thank you for your help.

A fibered asphalt roof coating should solve your problem. This stuff is available with or without aluminum (to reflect heat) depending on your climate. It's fairly inexpensive and should be available at any home center.

Cool

Or, you can use black plastic roofing cement.
It can even be applied in the rain, and it will seal.
Use old clothes, throw-away rubber gloves and putty kinfe, paint stir stick or piece of yardstick, etc. to spread it on with. It is VERY sticky.
I always seem to end up with more on me than the roof. LOL
Good Luck!
