I'm a bit suprised that the pitch isn't listed on the plans. Pitch (or slope) is simply the ratio of the rise to the slope.

Example, the span of the roof (width of building) is 24 feet, its run is 12 feet. If the rise is 8 feet the pitch is 8/24 or 1/3. Expressed as a slope the same roof is said to rise 8 inches per foot of horizontal run.

If the rise of the same roof were 6 feet, the pitch would be 6/24 or 1/4, and its slpe would be 6 inches per foot of run.

Hope this helps.

Barn Roof

There is not a thing that is set for what you want to do. its like how high do you want it and so on. The only thing I can think of here .Is the top part of it would have to be over 2 1/2" on 12". So the 3 in 1 shingles will work. On something like this lay it out on a floor. If its 8' wide just mark it on the floor and work out the roof you want. ED

Tygar:

If you will send me your e-mail address I will send you the layout for a Gambrel roof. The angles are the same no matter what the size of roof. I know exactly what you want. If you use AOL or Yahoo, you will not be able to receive them. See you soon.
