Need tips on installing soffit vent chutes / baffles
#1

Hello,
I've noticed very poor attic venting in my house over the past couple years. I have ridge vents and soffit vents, but the soffits are blocked with insulation. I bought a bunch of 'provent' baffles to get the air up into the attic, but I'm have a terrible time.
The ceiling is 'semi' cathedral (scissor truss) design. As much as I've tried, I can't seem to force the baffles up over the insulation. The insulation is extremely tight, not to mention there are dozens of nails hanging down through the roof that makes it even more difficult.
Any tips at all would be appreciated!! Also, if anyone knows of any other way of venting the sofits to the ridge vents, I'd like to hear about it!
Thanks,
Jeg.
