Nails In Roof

We're trying to buy a home that has rust nails coming out of the roof. Can these be replaced easily, and could this be because the dryer exhaust was not routing correctly through the roof? Thank you

From all the posts you have put here on this home. If its not free of any cost to you .I would run run away from it for sure. As for the roof . Yes it can be fixed. With a whole roof take off and new shingles put on. Also there can be a lot of bad wood up there that has to be replaced. Dont know how long that dryer vent was up there. But Ill bet you will find a lot more there than just rust on the nails. If this ran any in the winter Ill bet the whole wood roof is bad. ED

Are the nails you are talking about poking through the inside if the roof decking and the tips are rusty? If that is the caseit's no biggy as long as the deckingisn't deteriating too.
If the nails are popping up and making your shingles stick up you can go around and pound them in and put another nail next to the loose one.

Thank you Ed for your reply, it seems that the inspection was o.k. and this was one of the repairs done on the house. Thank you, Kim
