Gutter Nails

Hi guys, my neighbor's gutter is beginning to sag because five of those 6 inch nails have pulled out of the Facia board. I took a look at it and came up with 2 ideas. One is to glue wooden dowels in the existing Facia Board holes and renail the gutter to them. Or using the existing outside hole swing the nail right or left about 1/2 inch and nail there and fill in the vacated inner hole with caulk. What do you think???? Do you agree with this or do you have something better???.

I would use gutter hangers. One end snaps under the outside edge of the gutter, and has about a 7" hex head screw, which you just screw right through the gutter and into the fascia. Better then nails, and will not come out. They cost about 50 cents each. You could probably line them up and go through the same holes. Just my thoughts. Good Luck I have put in a gutter nail in 5 years. This is all we use.

Try going to Lowes or Home Depot and looking for some gutter screws. They have them in either white or brown and wil go in the existing holes. I had to do that on mine and they worked fine.
