Laminated Shingles for ridge vent cap

Can I use a Laminated Shingle to cap my shinglevent II ridge vent? My supplier wants me to use a 3 tab but its only 35 year warrenty & my shingles are 50.

How about one of the enhanced hip & ridge. I use 3 tab shingles for ridges sometimes, but double them up (2 layers). Adds defination and looks better. 17 ft instead of 33 ft per bundle. Using the same mfr's 3 tabs for ridge shouldn't void any warranty.

I also dont see how it can void your warranty. To use the same shingle

A laminated ridge will not lay flat.
You may get wind-driven rain to blow up underneath the cap.
