I've been having a brand new house (new construction) roof done (Owens Corning shingles over their brand of tar paper) and about half of the way thru thunderstorms hit while they were installing shingles. Rain is over now but the roofer says they need to finish it up tomorrow even though the paper is all wet still where they need to shingle. I always heard you shouldn't install shingles unless the roof paper was bone dry. But I'm told by them that the sun will heat up and evaporate the moisture under those shingles that have wet paper underneath and it will be no problem. We're in south Florida and there's nothing in the code on wet/dry. Is my understanding old or what?

I have a four twelve pitched roof that is tongue and groove slats and 2x4 or 2x6 joist, I'm not sure at the moment. Anyway I have some areas that are sagging. I have been told by one contractor that I could cut small triangles out of the exsisting joist, then jack them up to level then add a 8 or 10 foot joist by nailing or screwing them in. Would this be a good way to go or is there a better way short of ripping everything out? I think this has happend, because there is not enough ventilation in the attic. And moisture over time has maybe warped the joist. I live in a hot humid climate, and am planing to add vent ridge and soffit vents when I re-roof the house. Any advice would be appreciated.
