Tar Paper Buckling

I just rolled out 15# tar paper on my garage (after I tore off the old shingles and tar paper). The problem is the paper didn't go on smooth....it kind of buckles and wrinkles. I think maybe I did something wrong. Any ideas?

Did you pull on it, did you keep it in line. snap a line on the roof and put it to that.

roof repair surprises...

I suspected that the roof on my house wasn't installed properly (back in '93; way before we bought it)...it appeared that the fascia board was installed too high up so that there was a noticible curl to the drip edge. I pulled the gutter and fascia board off a drip edge to check, and was surprised to find a 2x6 plate behind the fascia board. The other thing I noticed was that the sheathing doesn't extend completely over the 2x6..there's about a 1/4 inch gap. The drip rail that was installed barely reached the sheathing, and definately wasn't installed under the tar paper. Two questions...what is the 2x6 for (I expected to see the ends of the rafters; is this a normal component of a trussed roof?), and what should I do about the short sheathing? The only thing that comes to mind (other than getting 6inch flashing and making my own drip edge over the gap) is to pull the first couple of rows of shingles, then rip enough of the old sheathing out so that I could nail a narrow strip of OSB to extend the edge.... ceiling and wall paint peeling in 3 rooms

We bought a 54 yr. old house 2 years ago. House has a new GAF roof on it 7 yrs. old. Paint is peeling from the cieling on 2 rooms and 1 room is peeling above window and along the side of the window. House has plaster walls and cielings. Called insurance company, they sent out an engineer. His conclusion was bad construction paint was not preped for the plaster correctly. Also too many vents. we have a ridge vent and pad vents 2 ft away form the ridge vent. Soffit vents and gable vents are also part of the system. He said the pad vents are counter productive for the ridge vents. We had the house inspected before we purchased it and the inspector was delighted about our vent system. Does he have a responsibility because of not recognizing a fault? Also he said9 the insurance engineer), we do not have enough insulation he said we need more at least 2". bottom line humidity is formed which gets under the paint and the paint peels. Insurance company will not pay. What course do we have to take to stop the humidity, to stop paint from peeling and do we have any recourse from the prior owners?
