Shed roof

Hi,
I have a 12 x 24 shed that needs a new roof. The pitch goes from 8' - 5'. I live in the northeast. The old roof was heavy felt paper (80lb i think ) 2 layers only - no shingles. It lasted over 20 years. I replaced all the bad boards - My question is, could I just use the Ice and Water barrier self stick rolls and not shingle and have good results ?

Any help would be appreciated.

thank you

It would work, but the UV rays would break down the modified asphalt in the "ice and water shields". It would last awhile, but they are not made to be exposed to the sun. You will eventually be replacing it.

You could try an "ice and water shield" with an aluminum facing on it. That will last. There are plenty of products like that available.

I believe there are also some "peel and stick" ready-made roofing available.
Essentially, it is an "ice and water shield" with granules.

Good luck.
