Best reroofing material for steep barn roof

Something that is proven to last, won't fly off, easy to put on. House roof was steep enough, now the barn needs a roof. Don't want to do it because of the height, but would give it a try if I have something "other" than shingles that goes on quick, easy and lasts and lasts and lasts and lasts....

Most barns around here have metal roofing.

Metal Roof

Agree with Hellrazor.

Metal roofs and barns go together****************.

But metal roofing is not a DIY project.

Metal roofing can last a hundred years or more.

For DIY applications consider vinyl shingles, but while user friendly, at $300 per square they will outlast metal roofs but probably break the bank just in materials alone.

Metal roofing can be a DIY project. But it depends on the pitch of the roof and how skilled you are. I would tend to say its not for a novice/intermediate level skill wise. Depending on the pitch, its like standing on a sliding board.
