gutters on a porch

Hi,
I live in Vermont and am about to hang vinyl gutters on my covered front porch. There is currently crown moulding on the fascia, which I will have to remove to make the fascia flat. When I do that the gutters will then sit too far back so I will have to add a 1x4 to the fascia boards to bring them out enough to hang the gutters to. My quesion is,
where should the gutter be positioned in respect to the drip edge ( or roofline) is the roofline to be centered in the gutter, or is it ok to have the front edge of the gutter out about 1 inch past the roofline.by the way it is a low slope roof 1/12 pitch, so not a lot of fast moving water.
thanks

Wink

First dont do the vinyl gutters. Use the steel are aluminum gutters for sure. The vinyl dont last. Now on that low of slope roof for sure have the drip edge just about 1" off the back of the gutter. If not the water will over shoot the gutter on you. Id put a 2X4 on it not the 1X4

Plastic gutters will not survive many winters in the NE. The weight of ice and snow will cause them to twist and buckle.
