Rain making noise on skylight

A summer home I own has inexpensive skylights reminicient of those used in the modular/manufactured home industry. Rain hitting it disturbs our sleep. I enjoy the sun and light coming through but would like to solve the noise problem of rain "pinging" on it. Is there anything I can apply to it to reduce the noise without affecting its translucency? They work perfectly well and replacement is not a consideration.

sound silly

hi
if you can reach the skylite try this
take 4 pennies and some duck tape and applied a penny at each corner with a small piece of tape not to close to the ridge.
it will absorve the noise

cheers

Thanks. I like the idea. BUT to make it look neater, what do you think about using silicone caulk to hold the pennies in place. AND if pennies would absorb the sound do you feel that a heavier coin would work better?

hi
your guess is good as mine try it and see
the reason for the tape is it vibrate the pennie to absorve the noise
tried pennies before it work
i place them jut a little inside the part that is curve
try and you will see
cheers
