Question What color shingles?

I have bought a 2-family deplex built in 1890 back in April. We have gotten to the roof. We have asphalt siding so eventually we will take that off and paint the wood under white. I want to do the trim hunter green. What color would be good for the roof. I am not good at picking color schemes. Oh we also have a black wrought iron porch. I also have to paint the porch if anyone has any ideas of either white or hunter green to match the trim. Thank you in advance for the help.

Black roof would be my suggestion.
There are also green shingles with black mixed in that would look good.
Just my opinion.

I always like the kind of dark grey, it's supposed to look a bit like aged cedar shakes. Walking around my neighborhood it's the most popular of the shingles. Also everyone I know uses the "dimensional/archetectural" shingles, they just give a nicer appearance than do the 3 tabs.

hi
depending on your location the darker the shingle the hotter ir will be in the attic.
I would recommend 2 tone green or dual gray or dual black.
to used 3 tab shingles u need more than 3/12 pitch roof.
any think lower you would need low slop shingle with nis adhesive

cheers
