Truss Repair

I have some roof damage from IVAN. It is nearly impossible to get a contractor at this time, so I want to do this repair myself. I have no experience with trusses. Can I repair a cracked top chord by attaching sister boards on either side of the truss? Also I have one broken web, can it be taken out and replaced? All damage is near the peak, I really don't want to take off the entire roof to replace 1 or 2 damaged chords.

Wait for the Professional

Most building codes do not allow for any type of alteration to trusses except under the direction of an engineer or other structural professional.

Trying to repair these trusses by DIY could find you without or with curtailed future casulaty insurance.

If this an emergency and you REALLY cannot wait, you might try sistering and bracing the damaged elements but ONLY knowing that you will need to have this framing examined and replaced professionally when they can get to you.
