Slope of Roof

What is the minimum slope I need to have in the roof over my porch. I am going to extend the porch out by about 10 feet and it will change the pitch of my roof. thanks.

Depends what you want to roof it with. Most localities I'm familar with require either a 1/8in or 1/4in per ft slope. But at that pitch you need a "flat" roof system installed.

To low for shingles, technically {code-wise} speaking. But if you do it with shingles, realize the shingles will be nearly worthless at keeping the water out, and "roof it" first with a self-adhering membrane. You'll need a wide drip edge flashing as well, you'll or be taking a chance with water seeping into the fascia, soffit/etc.
