Roof detaching from eaves???

Roof detaching from eaves???
We are currently in the process of selling our home. Our potential buyers brought in a roofer to inspect the roof. He apparently claims that the roof is "separating from the eaves," and that this will require immediate (and extremely expensive) repair. Can anyone explain what that means?

I have been inspecting/specifying/maintaining roofing systems for over 20 years... and do not understand. Could mean a lot of things.
