Lichen (sp) on my roof
I have a tree overhanging my roof and it is leaving lichen. When we bought it, the home inspector said there isn't much we can do-- is that true?? Please tell me it isn't!! Thanks for whatever information you can provide!

You can do a few things in this situation. Ignoring it isn't a good idea. Trim the tree branches so they are atleast 6-7' above the roof. Getting sun and air to help dry it out will be good in the long run. You can install zinc strips on the roof, this will help kill the moss/etc growing there.
Keeping tree branches low to the roof can cause some major damage during thunderstorms or ice storms.
