Question Exterior Wall Vents - Fypon or Gablemaster?

Hi,

New to this, so hope you'll bear with me. I would like to install new exterior wall vents near the roof line. Fypon seems to be the overwhelming favorite, but Gablemaster has been recommended to me. Can anyone tell me if one product is appreciably better than another? Gablemaster says it has a 40-year life -- is this realistic?

Thanks so much!

The warranty is most likely pertaining to the construction of the vent. Meaning it won't fall apart due to a material defect.
I doubt that one is any better than the other, more of a personal preference.

One very important factor...is to do the math to ensure you end up with an adequate amount of ventilation.

1 sq foot of venting for every 150 sq ft of attic floor space.
1/2 of that number will need to be the total venting capacity of the gable vents (exhaust). The other half of the number is your soffit venting area (intake).

Good Luck!

Thanks!

Thanks for your help -- especially the confirmation on the venting needed per square footage.

Cheers!
