Question Need To Seal Steel Roof

Hi
Have a steel roof over our four car garage that is about 25 years old. Very happy with it. Have been working on finishing off the inside finally and noticed two spots where we are getting 'rain drips' after heavy rains. Since I want to put ceilings into this part of the garage and heat it, thought best to do something about those leaks. Assume that a few nails have come lose so was going to just seal all the seams over that part of the roof. Should I use silicone or acrylic base? Thoughts?

Seal Steel Roof

I don't know where you live, so this may be an impossible answer. First of all use silicone. The second thing is if you can find someone in your area, usually a 100 mile radius, see if you can find someone who will spray your steel roof with silicone. Not too expensive, and will give you another 25 years. Good Luck

Thanks Jack!

Thanks for the answer Jack, had no idea that the roof could be sprayed with silicon. I'm in Ontario Canada so we get complete weather swings, sub zero and snow in winter and summer have been hot and humid, 90's or so(more with humidity!).
What sort of listing would someone have that sprays roofs like this, a steel roofing company under ROOF's in yellow pages?
Thanks again.
