Weight on roof

hi,
On my concrete roof i placed 2.5 inches of sand, spread across the roof and then placed bricks on the sand. each is aabout 6 inces by 4 inches. then used cement on these bricks.

the contractor told me that he has taken weight into consideration.

but now i am concerned about the weight and need to know how much weight can be placed on a roof?

What will be the weight of 2.5 inches of clay spread on the roof which is about 40feet by 40 feet approximately. Plus each brick is about half kg.

?

Weight on roof

The amount of load you roof can carry is determined by what the roof structure is made of and what is holding the roof up.

It is easy to calculate how much you bricks and cement weigh, but that does not answer the question about how much your roof can hold.

This is a question that can only be answered by an engineer.

this is doit yourself place, I think you should discuss with structure engineer, you can pay a lot $$ for your roof , it does not cost a lot to talk with engineer guys.

good luck
