Chimney leaks

We found water dripping down from inside the chimney into the fireplace in heavy rain. Does this happen or a "normal" possibility in heavy wind-driven rain, or does this indicate something needed repair with the chimney? What/where should I look for? Please advise. Thanks!

If rain is actually coming down the flue, you probably need a flue cap, which acts like a "roof" for your chimney pipe, keeping rain out while still allowing smoke to exit.

Thanks XSleeper for the input! We do have a cap currently. Did you mean that the cap needs to be replaced? Thanks!
