roof/ceiling leaks

Help! water is dripping down from several areas -- all in alignment with each other -- of the ceiling in an addition to the house, specifically where the addition joins the old structure. I had to tear down part of the celing as there is no crawl space and saw that the underside of the roof was sopping wet and water had collected along the ceiling rafters.

There has been little no rain. Yet it is still wet. the dripping is especially bad during the day when the sun is out, and seems to slow down at night.

Does anyone have a clue? is it something to do with the outside temp and the use of the heater?
