Shingles buckling after new roof installed

We recently had a new roof installed and added a ridge vent. After about six months we noticed shingles buckling on the north side. We noticed our soffits are blocked and had been blocked with the old roof. We also have a 2x2 louvre vent on the east side of the house that opens and closes at will. On the north side only, we have a minor mold growth on the roof boards in the attic and nails that drip with condensation. We have been told to take the insulation out of the soffits but the problem is they are about 4 ft deep and are part of the second floor walls and we really dont want them uninsulated. Any suggestions?

I would take out the insulation. I am sure that is what is causing the condensation. Warm air and cold meeting make condensation, thats is why your nails are dripping. As for your vent on the east side opening and closing on its own, is because it is a flipper vent and thats how they are supposed to work. But if your soffits are insulated, non of your venting will work very well. Sorry about that.
