How bad is this and how to proceed

Hello all,

I just had someone reroof my house. I don't think that he was too professional becuase there are many things that I can find that aren't to the manufacturers recommendations. There are 6 pages of pictures and If you don't mind can you please review the work at this website http://www.adt-web.com/construct/xclick/page/page1.htm and give me your feedback on how to proceed. I really do need some professional advice and I mean quick cause I really don't trust anybody locally and I don't want any harm to come to the roof. Thank you so much for the help

This is unfortunately why I got out of roofing almost a decade ago now... There just don't seem to be many professionals out there no matter how big/small a company.

Some things will depend on the contract you signed. Like the drip edges - was it specified to supply and install, or replace as needed with matching? Was installation of iko leading edge specified in the contract - if I recall it's an optional addition - not 100% required.

But all in all the roof isn't shingled correctly - best place to start - contact your municipal building codes office - there are roofing inspectors. IKO's also really good about sending out a local representative to inspect and write reports. And definitely file a complaint with your local BBB.

What's got to be done - strip the roof, start anew.

If the nails are consistantly low on the interlocked area like that you'll never get a sealed roof. Reason one nails above the notch is - water flows downhill and sideways - rarely uphill. Being low like that water can penetrate under the interlocking T, wick sideways and penetrate.

Contact the roofing company - I'm hoping it's not "joes roofing" with only a cell# and P.O. Box - any reputable company will send a crew back to strip it and correct the problem.
