Vinyl gutter shield

Has anyone had success with the solid gutter shields that cover your gutters to keep out debris, but allow rain to run into the gutter? I'm having a problem with my roof tiles, at the back of the garage, allowing water to leak between the gutter and the house. The tiles do not overlap the gutter enough, and I was wondering if these gutter shields would correct the problem. Thanks!

They will not, because they are designed to let water through. What can be effective is an "apron" type flashing. It's bent like a reverse "s" - you stick one section under the tiles and drop the other right into the gutter. That way water has to flow where it's supposed to. Try to colormatch the gutter so it doen't stick out like a sore thumb.

Thanks for the advise! I will certainly give it a try and see if it fixes the problem.
