Rain coming in
I am building a new home across the street from the ocean.
We had a bad storm and the rain off the water was coming in though the soffit vents. Is there any product I can buy or something I can do to the soffit vents to keep this from happening. Any web site info or will help
Thanks

I'm at a loss to explain why water would be coming out your soffit vents. It sounds to me like perhaps you have water getting behind your gutters and fascia. I'd investigate how the water is getting in by getting on a ladder and looking over the top of your gutter. If you don't have a flashing over the back side of the gutter, I'd say that's the problem.

Sleeper has a good idea and here is another thought. Perhaps when the siding was installed, it was not installed clear to the top of the wall. Soffitt fits in a freeze runner. If the siding is not under or behind the freeze runner
this could cause water coming up and in through the soffits and coming down your walls under the siding. I will add one more thing. If just a big rain off the ocean is hitting your house, you had better have that side of your house really water tight. What is going to happen when a big wave and a really big rain hits. Those I have build on the ocean are double sealed to keep water out. Good Luck
