Roof plywood nails

I need to replace water-damaged plywood on the drip-edge of my garage roof. Material is 7/16 chip board. I live in Maryland, so hurricanes are not typical. What nails (size and finish - bright, galvanized, hot dipped, etc.) should I use to attach the chipboard to the roof trusses?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'd use galvanized, or whatever won't rust out over time. Size depends on how thick your chipboard is and what your nailing to. You may want to consider some good quality decking screws--they won't rust out and will hold better. Just paint over them.

7D hot dipped galvanized is what I'd probably use.
