Leak around chimney system

There is a serious leak around the area cut to install the chimney pipe system for a wood-burning stove. The chimney system itself seems to be sound with no observed damage or pierced area. The roof is flat (common in the southwest) I have applied a generous layer of plastic roof cement (as advised by a home improvement retailer) along the square of roof tar which was originally used when the system was installed less than 2 years ago. Everything I have read says the problem is with the flashing, but other than some aluminum flashing attached around the chimney pipe just above the roof surface, I do not see flashing around the area cut to install the pipe. I would appreciate any suggestions!

I had this same problem in my shop. What I did was turned the lights off and look for light from the the under side of roof. When I saw the hole I put a piece of wire through the hole. I went up on the roof and filled in the hole.
Good Luck
