no place for a downspout, suggestions? (pic)

My parents are finishing up a remodel, but they hit this little snag that's really causing them trouble. The light with the red highlight is directly below where the downspout should have been (dad installed light). Dad suggested running a downspout along left column, but Mom doesn't want a downspout going next the the column because she says it will look bad.

They have argued for 2 days over this, and yesterday settled on a rain chain. But after they installed it, both agreed it doesn't look good. Other than removing the light, is there any way to fix this? Thanks

we are in southern oregon, snow is rare and winter is fairly rainy.

I would use two b-style elbows to create an s-curve, avoid the light and then go straight down.

I'd pipe the downspout behind the column, then back down over the stoop. You'd see it at the top and bottom.
