Gutters Pulling Loose From House
Hi All,
I have aluminum gutters supported by hangars that are secured with aluminum nails. Many of the nails have popped out repeatedly. Water is collecting in multiple sections. My first thought is that sagging is causing the water to collect and that resecuring the gutter may alleviate the problem.
The hardware stores sell aluminum nails but I want to try screws in the original bracket holes for better holding power. I can get stainless steel screws. Is this a good idea? Can you combine aluminum and stainless? Is there a better way?
Thanks,
John

Yes aluminum and stainless? can go together. Is there a better way? Check at the big box store they have gutter hangers some with screws now. Then you have the old way a long spike and a small tube. Or move over what you have some to nail it in a new place.
