Roof woes...

I recently needed to get into the attic of our home to take a look at a window and noticed something very disturbing... broken board(s) along the eve. I went outside and noticed a 3-4' section of the eve/spine that was sagging by about 3-4".

Our home was built in 1918. I am familiar with modern roof frames and this obviously is not of that ilk. Please take a look at these pictures and let me know what you think. Can I fix this myself by replacing/bracing the broken board or should I call in the professionals?

Thanks

Wink

Id say yes you can do it If you are a DIYer. The whole roof shingles have to come off. Then Id say all new plywood down over the whole roof then new felt and shingles. If you look in the picture you have there . Some of the nails that hold the shingles down you can see them. They just go through the felt paper thats up there is all. You have to rework that whole roof for sure.

call in the professionals
