Advice needed Roof Leak/pictures

We have had a leak in several times in the same place. The valley was not built right and all the water hits into the wall beside trim. We have had several roofers work on it and the leak was not fixed. We took off siding removed the shingles in that area and put water & ice on the wall bringing it out onto the roof. Re flashed and covered the flashing with felt paper. My daughter build a piece of flashing that she welded together to fit around the corner. NO MORE LEAK..The gutter nut showed up and on his own put a home made water divert on the roof because he saw the valley did not hit on the corner. He must have put a hole in the flashing. We had another man take the siding off again and he said he fixed the hole in the flashing. Now it still leaks. Is there a way to fix this right, may be move the valley???

here is a link to several pictures of the area.

We are so tired of working on and paying to have it done, only to have it leak again. PLEASE HELP.

To answer your ? yes the valley can be moved and should be.From the pictures there are 2 different piches or angles the one that is leaking is flatter than the one up above.whoever built this had the right idea they just did'nt take it far enough. To fix it you will have to make the lower pich even flatter so that the valley will come out past the corner 2 or 3".Now having said that, when you make the lower pich flatter now you have a problem with shingling it, I can't tell from the pictures what pitch you have but the upper roof looks like about 8 or 10 pitch the lower looks like about 4 or 5 a 4 is about as low as you SHOULD go with shigles if you go lower you should think about going with a rubber roof. I don't know how much more I can say without being right there to look at it. This is something that a pro should look at, find someone who is good at both frameing and roofing. This will not be cheep but if done right you will have no more leaks. Is'nt homeownership fun. Jack

A very typical leak configuration. It can be done!
Framing adjustments would most likely only move the corner. A valley must end somewhere…That’s where the corner will be.
A very lengthy explanation however, just need to think "redundancy". There must be a back up waterproofing to the main flashing. And open the corner a little by cutting back off the roof the wood siding /trim 1”, so it won’t interfere, divert or slow the run-off from turning the corner.
And whatever you do….Don’t put a coating on it!,… as suggested earlier…a miracle in a can….doesn’t exist.

Good Luck!

I disagree changing the pitch of the roof does not mean the corner will move and can not move the valley does not have to end at the corner. This is a saddle or cricket as we call them. please change the pitch of the roof and get the valley out away from the corner because the corner can not move.this is no different than a saddle or cricket behind a chimney, the saddle does not have to be the same width as the chimney, it actualy should be a little bigger to get the valleys to run water out away from the corner.
